The Cycle Breaker

Dian: Director & Cinematographer & Editor

In the U.S., about 70–76% of children live with two parents, whereas only around 33–45% of Black children live with both parents.

The Cycle Breaker tells the story of David Moore, a local Syracuse barbershop owner who breaks generational cycles of negativity, where many individuals engage in illegal activities and fathers often do not raise their children due to broken families. The documentary shows how David became the first person in his family in 100 years to raise his children to adulthood and demonstrates that a person is not merely a product of their environment, but can choose to bring positivity to their community.

Bridges to Hope: Public Safety Leave-Behind Naloxone in Action”,

Dian: Video Director & Cinematographer & Editor

The decline in overdose deaths is encouraging, but the work is not done. Too many people are still dying from preventable overdoses.

When public safety agencies respond to an opioid overdose, they can do more than treat the immediate emergency. Through Leave-Behind Naloxone (LBN), responders can provide naloxone for future emergencies—turning missed opportunities into lifesaving interventions. The video follows agencies as they move from questions and challenges to practical solutions, best practices, and real-world impact, showing how LBN can help save lives.
