Raising voice of underrepresented….

Hosting the Community Night Filmmaking Workshop: Living to Tell—Using Film as a Tool for Reproductive Justice

Driven by the goal of using video to serve the community and foster greater understanding, I joined Urban Video Project-one of the few U.S. projects dedicated to public projection- after graduation as a director's assistant. In this role, I collaborated with artists from around the world to showcase their film and video work on the façade of the Everson Museum, amplifying the voices of underrepresented groups.

The Promotional Poster

for Communities of Care

The promo material I made for Communities night-COMMUNITIES OF CARE. A screening by The Abortion Clinic Film Collective, a group of six feminist filmmakers with diverse backgrounds and distinctive styles who came together from around the country in the wake of the overturning of Roe v Wade to document the impact of the ruling on their own communities. The program includes new work by award-winning filmmaker Lynne Sachs, who shot footage in Syracuse with local reproductive justice advocates from Layla’s Got You.

Insight Video: Ode to the

humble landscape

In this project, I created a documentary video showcasing the story behind the piece Unseen/Forgotten: Ode to the Humble Landscape | Invisible/Olvidado: Oda al Paisaje Humilde. This work is a continuation of A River of All Ages, a project Paulina Velázquez Solís developed during the pandemic. In Brooktondale, NY, she found herself in a new environment surrounded by a creek, where the slower pace and isolation brought on by COVID heightened her acoustic perception of the river. She came to experience it as both a living entity and a neighbor.

The Promotional Video of

This Side Of Salina

In this project, I worked as an editor on the promotional video This Side of Salina by filmmaker Lynne Sachs, which explores reproductive justice. The film features five Black women bringing their voices to social justice issues, specifically addressing the intersectional challenges surrounding women’s maternal and mental health in a city like Syracuse.
